Bulldogs Look for a Bounce Back in Game 2

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs will look to even their best of 7 Coastal Conference Semi-Final series with the Langley Rivermen tonight at 7:00 pm.

The Rivermen pulled out a 3-2 win in Game 1 on Friday night and sent a rowdy crowd home frustrated.

A quick start for the Bulldogs last night was stifled by Langley as they were more than happy to muddle up the neutral zone and play a patient game. Case in point, the Bulldogs were held to just 4 shots on goal in the 2nd period.

Despite being short-handed 18 times in their First round series with the Grizzlies, the Bulldogs were unable to earn a single power play in Game 1.  To make matters worse, the Rivermen struck once on their two chances.  The Bulldogs penalty kill has some good news and some bad news.  The bad news is that they’re only killing 50% of their chances, the good news is that the Bulldogs are the least penalized team in the playoffs.  The Bulldogs disciplined approach will need to remain intact.

Both goalies were solid in game 1 and will see the crease again tonight in Game 2.  For the Bulldogs Hobie Hedquist, tonight will mark his 20th consecutive start.

The clubs feature a pair of red-hot players.  The Bulldogs Brandon Buhr picked up his 6th goal of the playoffs which has him tied for 2nd in the BCHL with the Rivermen’s Max Bulawka.

There are good seats still available and can be purchased at the box office which is open 10am through game time, or online by CLICKING HERE.
