Bulldogs Looking for Answers as Chiefs Come to Town

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs (9-11-1-1) host the Chilliwack Chiefs (8-13-0-1) in a crucial match-up at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.  Tonight’s game is presented by Hertel Meats and puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

The Bulldogs are coming off a second consecutive blow-out loss on home ice.  Last night the Bulldogs were embarrassed 5-0 on home ice by the Victoria Grizzlies.  To make matters worse, the shutout came on the Bulldogs Teddy Bear Toss.  The Bulldogs faithful were forced to wait for the final buzzer to litter the ice with hundreds of items that will be distributed around Port Alberni before Christmas.

Add up the loss to the Vees a week ago, and the Bulldogs have been outscored 12-1 in their past two home games.

Chilliwack comes to Port Alberni off a 3-1 loss to the Nanaimo Clippers.  The Chiefs find themselves in a similar position to the Bulldogs, expected to compete for a Conference pennant, yet looking for ways to get on track after a slower than anticipated start.  The Chiefs have lost 4 of 5 heading into tonight.

The Bulldogs knocked off the Chiefs 4-3 back on October 29th.  Raoul Boilard scored the game-winner that night and Hobie Hedquist made 30 saves.  Watch for Hedquist to return to the crease for the Bulldogs tonight.

The Bulldogs are 5-0-0-1 in their past six games versus the Chiefs and will hope to keep the good vibes going against Chilliwack.
