Bulldogs lose tough one 3-2 in double OT

What a game last night in front of 1,152 fans at the Alberni Valley Multiplex, sadly though the result didn’t end in the Bulldogs favor losing 3-2 in double overtime.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the first period with two goals first by Keaton Mastrodonato assisted by James Orban and Ryan Steele followed by Paul Selleck’s goal on the powerplay assisted by Jackson Doucet and Connor Welsh.

Powell River would retaliate with two goals of their own in the second period first at 4:07 on the powerplay by Jonny Evans and later in that period by Nathan Kelly.

It would remain 2-2 for the remainder of the game forcing this game into overtime.

Late in the second overtime Powell River’s Ethan Kimball would score of the referees foot to take the game 3-2.

John Hawthorne stopped 33 of 36 shots he faced while the Bulldogs received 7 penalties during the game while being on the powerplay once.

Mitch Oliver received a Match Penalty at the end of the game resulting in a suspension.
