Bulldogs Make it 5 Straight at the Dawg Pound

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs defeated the Trail Smoke Eaters 6-4 on Friday night in front of 1148 fans at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.  The win was the Bulldogs 3rd straight overall, and their 5th straight on home ice.

The Bulldogs received a pair of goals from Ludovik Tardif, the first two goals of his BCHL career.  Other markers came from Chase Klassen (2nd), Nicholas Beneteau (5th), Jeremy Fontaine (2nd) and Ethan Bono (8th) into the empty net.

Trey Fetchko scored twice for Trail who falls to 1-5-0-0 on the road this season with the loss.

Hobie Hedquist earned the win in goal for the Bulldogs as he stopped 31 of 35 shots on the night. Teagan Kendrick turned aside 33 of 38 Bulldogs attempts.

The power play went 1 for 4 on the night and have now scored in 3 consecutive games.  The penalty kill was 2 for 4.

The win improves the Bulldogs overall record to 7-6-1-0 on the year while the Smokies fall to 6-7-1-0.

Up next for the Bulldogs is a date with the Cranbrook Bucks tomorrow at 7:00 pm.  The Bucks are in Nanaimo tonight to take on the Clippers.
