Bulldogs Name Ryan Rehill Assistant Coach

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are proud to announce the hiring of Ryan Rehill as the clubs new assistant coach for the 2022-2023 season.

Rehill, 26, played 249 games in the WHL for the Kamloops Blazers and was selected in the 5th Round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils.

The native of Edmonton Alberta would go on to spend 4 seasons with the University of Alberta, playing 109 games a Golden Bear.

Rehill joins Joe Martin behind the bench as the Bulldogs prepare for one of their most anticipated seasons in club history.

Rehill spent some time with both the Bulldogs and Jr B Bombers last year while working as a full time teacher.  Making the switch to full time coach is a leap Rehill is excited to make.

“Hockey has been my passion for as long as I can remember.” said Rehill. “I couldn’t be more excited and grateful for the opportunity to start my coaching career with a first class organization like the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. From the players, coaches and management, to ownership and fans, I couldn’t ask for a better situation.  I can’t wait to get on the ice and get started.” he continued.

For head coach and general manager Joe Martin, he’s excited for the chance to have Rehill work with the Bulldogs players. “Excited to work with Ryan on a daily basis. Ryan has a presence when he is instructing, and is a very good communicator to our players. Combining his teaching and hockey background is a huge benefit to the Bulldogs.”

The Bulldogs and Rehill will hit the ice with the opening of training camp on September 2nd at the Multiplex.  Season tickets remain on sale for just $299 + GST for adults.
