Bulldogs Sign Matthew Maltais

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have signed 2004 Born forward Matthew Maltais.

Maltais was skating with Kimball Union in the USHS Prep Division and is committed to play for the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

In 14 games, the 6’2″, 175 pound forward had 6 goals and 6 assists for 12 points.

The addition of Maltais rounds out the Bulldogs roster for the season after yesterday’s trade deadline came and went.

Bulldogs head coach and general manager Joe Martin likes his group with the addition of Maltais. “Matthew has high hockey IQ with tremendous upside.  We believe Matthew can be a professional down the road and we’re excited for the chance to work with him and help him reach his goals.

The addition of Maltais solidifies the forward group after trades that saw Kobe Assam head to the AJHL. and Mirko Buttazzoni head to Coquitlam in the deal that brought 20 year old Arlo Merritt.  Maltais injects some youth back into the line-up bot this season and gives the Bulldogs a core piece of the offensive line-up for next year.
