The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce the signing of 04 goaltender Gleb Artsatbanov to the club for the 23-24 season. Artsatbanov hails from the Ukraine and played last season in the Czechia U20 league where he lead his HC Sparta Praha U20 club to a league championship.
At 6’2″ and 175 pounds, Artsatbanov brings size, speed and athleticism to the Bulldogs. “We’re excited to add Gleb to our team. It took us awhile to find our guy, but our patience paid off with Gleb joining our program.” said head coach and general manager Joe Martin. “He had a tremendous experience winning the Czechia U20 league and he’s an athletic, competitive goalie who I believe will fit in very well with our guys” Martin continued.
Artsatbanov was not selected during the most recent NHL Entry Draft, however he recently completed Development Camp with the NHL’s Boston Bruins.
In 23 regular season games with HC Sparta Praha U20, Artsatbanov posted a 13-10-0 record with a sparkling 1.95 GAA and a .938 SV %, good for 2nd in the league in both categories. During the club’s championship run in the playoffs, he was 11-2.
