Chris Schutz Commits to Robert Morris (NCAA D1)

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are very proud to announce Chris Schutz has committed to the NCAA Division 1 program at Robert Morris University.

Schutz joined the Bulldogs part-way through the exhibition round at the start of the 2014/15 season for a one-game tryout after Bulldogs head coach and general manager Kevin Willison scouted him in a prospect camp earlier that summer.

Schutz, coming off a 76-point season (in 46 games) with the Dallas Ice Jets of the WSHL in 2013/14, immediately made an impact with the Bulldogs. In his rookie campaign last season, Schutz contributed with 25 goals and 22 assists (47 points) and appeared in all 58 regular season games. Schutz immediately developed a reputation for having one of the hardest shots in the BCHL.

The start to the 2015/16 season was delayed for Schutz due to a injury sustained in the pre-season. However, once back in the line up, Schutz began where he left off, putting up 24 points in his first 17 games.

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are very proud of Chris for fulfilling his goal of committing to a great NCAA D1 program. He’s a great example of what happens when skill is complimented with hard work and a positive attitude.
