Dogs home for two this weekend

The Bulldogs have two games on their schedule this weekend, both of them on Dog Pound ice. Tonight the Langley Chiefs roll into town and then it?s the first afternoon game for the Dogs as the Westside Warriors make their only visit of the season for a 2:30 puck drop on Sunday. After wins last Friday and Saturday over the Capitals and Clippers respectively, the Bulldogs are winners of two in a row with a record of 2 and 1.

Langley enters play tonight with a record of 3-1-0 and 1 after a 4-2 loss last night at home to the Trail Smoke Eaters. The Chiefs were down 1-0 just over three minutes into the game before battling back to even it up on a Matt Ius goal just five minutes later as it was 1-1 after 20 minutes. Trail would retake the lead just over two minutes into the second with a power play goal to go up 2-1. The Chiefs would have a great chance to tie it up later in the period but Kiefer Smiley came up with a big save on a Brad McBride penalty shot. Just moments later the Smokies found the net to go up 3-1 after two periods. The Chiefs made a game of it just short of the halfway mark of the third as Trevor Gerling scored to make it a 3-2 game but that would be short-lived as the Smoke Eaters restored the two goal lead with a power play goal just two minutes later for a 4-2 lead and the eventual final score.

Shots favoured the Smokies 38-33 with Wyatt Galley taking the loss in net. The Chiefs were 0 for 3 on the power play while the Smoke Eaters went 2 for 9.
