Hobie Hedquist made 35 saves en route to his 3rd straight shutout as the Alberni Valley Bulldogs knocked off the Nanaimo Clippers 3-0 in front of 1038 fans at the Alberni Valley Multiplex on Saturday.

The Hedquist roll continues as he’s now gone over 187 minutes since he last allowed a goal and has made 83 consecutive saves during the streak.

Josh Zary opened the scoring in the 1st with his 6th of the year, Finn Brown added his 7th of the year in the 2nd, and Ethan Bono put the game away with his 2nd of the year in the 3rd to round out the scoring.

The largest crowd of the season at the Multiplex saw the Bulldogs improve to 7-3-1-0 and move into 2nd place in the Coastal Conference standings. The Bulldogs also improved to 5-0-1-0 on home ice.  The Bulldogs are currently the only club in the Coastal Conference without a regulation loss on home ice.  The Clippers dropped to 7-5-0-0 on the young season.

The Bulldogs went 1 for 7 with man-advantage while the Clippers were turned away on all 6 chances they had.  The Bulldogs have now killed off 15 consecutive opposition power play chances.

The Bulldogs will now hit the road for a 3 game Interior Conference swing.  The Bulldogs will face the Vees in Penticton on Wednesday before heading to Trail and Cranbrook to wrap up the trip.
