James Kerr Commits to Princeton University

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are pleased to announce that James Kerr has committed to Princeton University for the 2009-2010 hockey season. James will play one more season for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and will look to improve on last year's 14 goals, 29 assists and 43 points in his rookie season.

Prior to playing in Alberni Valley, James played 3 years in the Okanagan Hockey Academy at the Midget AA, Midget AAA and Junior B levels. James has made significant gains during the regular season with the Academy, and throughout the summer months training on and off the ice with the Okanagan Hockey School.

James's strong academics are attributed to the commitment of the Okanagan Hockey Academy and Alberni Valley Bulldogs educational staff. Academic advisors, Tom McEvay and Dave Nackoney have put in countless hours in working with the players in all academic areas from high school, college and SAT prep courses.

James chose Princeton over other opportunities due to the academic reputation and history of the school. Princeton's recent Ivy league and ECAC championships are an indication of the hockey program's transformation. Currently ranked 13th in the nation, head coach Guy Gadowsky has re-established the respect of Princeton's hockey program as an NCAA contender.

This season, the Bulldogs have seen two players, Captain Daniel Moriarty and Kerr committed to Ivy League programs. Moriarty will join the Harvard Crimson for the 2008-2009 season after notching 61 points in 56 games this past season.

James is one of 21 returning Bulldog players for the 2008-2009 season that is excited to continue the momentum created at the end of last season.
