Kurt Gosselin Commits To Alabama-Huntsville (NCAA Div 1)

Port Alberni, BC – The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are very proud to announce that veteran defenseman Kurt Gosselin has committed to the NCAA Division 1 program of the University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers.

Alabama-Huntsville plays in the 10-team Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

Gosselin is entering his third season with the organization. So far in 14 games this season, Gosselin has scored 5 goals and added 12 assists, for a league-leading 1.2 points per game among all defensemen. 10 of Gosselin’s 17 points have come on the power play, including 2 power play goals and 2 game winning goals.

With the start Gosselin has had, several NCAA Division 1 programs were inquiring about him. The Alberni Valley Bulldogs would like to congratulate the UAH Chargers for landing a top-quality player and person.

“We are very excited for Kurt after his three hard working years with the Bulldogs,” said head coach and general manager Kevin Willison. “We look forward to tracking his progress with the UAH Chargers commencing 2015/16. Kurt has been a great addition to our team and has worked very hard on and off the ice to make this opportunity happen,” added Willison.

Gosselin, needless to say, is very excited about his commitment to UAH.

“I want to thank my family, my billet family, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs coaching staff, volunteers, Tom McEvay, and everyone else who have supported me and helped make this happen,” said Gosselin. “I really look forward to going to such a great program and look forward to this opportunity.”

Gosselin will join former Alberni Valley Bulldogs goaltender Matt Larose on the UHA Chargers.
