Osoyoos Camp Deemed A Success

On Sunday, May 5th, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs wrapped-up another successful spring identification camp in Osoyoos, BC. This year, over 90 prospects came from all over North America to showcase their talents for the Bulldogs' coaching and scouting staff. Moreover, the camp also drew at least 7 Junior B coaches providing an added exposure opportunity to the prospects who are a year or two away from competing at the BCHL level.

On day 2 of the camp, Bulldogs educational advisor Tom McEvay also spent time providing all prospects with information they need to give them an advantage when preparing for becoming a student athlete in college.

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs spring identification camps have continued to draw skilled players that want to play in the Alberni Valley. 10 players on the Bulldogs 2013/14 roster were identified out of a previous spring identification camp.

The organization would like to thank the Town of Osoyoos and the staff at the Sun Bowl Arena for being first-class hosts yet again. Whenever a junior hockey team hosts a spring camp, there is an influx of local spending as a direct result to prospects and their families consuming accommodations, food, gas, and entertainment (golf, local attractions, etc). The Alberni Valley Bulldogs estimate that our 2.5-day camp in Osoyoos generated an economic benefit of over $55,000 to the local community. We look forward to returning again next season.
