Sacco is ready to return; hopes for the entire season

As the Alberni Valley Bulldogs kick off Main Camp on Monday with 44 players vying for a spot on the team there will be a few recognizable names with one of those names being Michael Sacco.

Sacco who is a returning player to the Bulldogs roster is excited for the season to return and hopes he will be able to stay healthy all season, “It’s a long season and I can’t take anything for granted. I need to stay healthy and stay the course.” Sacco said.

Last season Sacco played in only 26 regular season games due to an injury which took him out for more than half the season.

Sacco in 26 regular season games put up 17 points, 6 goals and 11 assists while in the playoffs he was a point per person player scoring five goals and getting two assists in the seven game series against the Victoria Grizzlies.

When asking others to describe Sacco it was simply put, play maker. A guy who is a shifty forward and creative with the puck allowing others around him to be better.

This upcoming season Sacco is hoping to  contribute as much as he can to the team “I want to be able to see all 58 regular season games this season and hope to make the finals in the playoffs. On a personal note my goal is to try and earn a Division 1 Scholarship.”  Sacco mentioned.

Sacco and the Bulldogs return to this ice this week for Main Camp, followed by Red vs White game on Thursday starting at 7:00PM.
