Tough Loss in Cowichan

It was an entertaining contest at the Island Saving Centre in Duncan but it didn’t end the way the Alberni Valley Bulldogs would have liked it too, losing to the Cowichan Capitals 6-3.

The Bulldogs started out strong again scoring the first goal by Port Alberni Native Foster Martin, but was retaliated quickly by the Capitals Laroche.

Prior to the end of the first period the Bulldogs manged to get back onto the board by Victoria Native Jackson Doucet to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 lead heading into the dressing room.

In the second frame it was all Capitals as they manged to score two unanswered goals to give them the 3-2 lead heading into the third period.

Capitals got on the board early into the third period as Levi Mitchell had a flurry of players fall into him to make it 4-2 Capitals.

The Capitals would score two more goals while Bulldogs could only get one more on the board by Jackson Doucet, his second of the night but it wasn’t enough as the Capitals would take the game, 6-3.

The Bulldogs are now 1-2 in the Exhibition and return home tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 1) to take on the Victoria Grizzlies, puck drop is at 7:00PM.
