Vees Push Bulldogs to the Brink

A sold out crowd of 1854 at the Alberni Valley Multiplex wasn’t enough to push the Bulldogs to a win on Tuesday night in Game 3 of the Best of 7 series.  The Vees scored 5 times in the 2nd period as they doubled up the Bulldogs 6-3 and in the process take a 3-0 lead in the Fred Page Cup Final.

After the 1st period finished 1-1, the Vees blew it open in the 2nd as they built up a 5-1 lead.

The Bulldogs typical reliance was on full display as Nicholas Beneteau scored his 4th goal of the series to make it 5-2, and Brady McIsaac out-muscled Frank Djurasevic to score a beautiful individual effort goal to make it 5-3.

Unfortunately for the Bulldogs the momentum was short lived as Aydar Suniev answered back just under 2 minutes later to make it 6-3 Penticton after 40 minutes.

There was no scoring in the 3rd period.

Final shots were 42-31 Penticton.

Game 4 becomes a must win affair for the Bulldogs if they hope to stave off elimination and send the series back to the South Okanagan Events Centre on Saturday night.
