McIsaac Commits to Bulldogs for 22-23

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have announced the commitment of Brady McIsaac for the 2022-2023 season.

McIsaac has been one of the expansion Port Alberni Bombers top players this season with 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points in just 23 games. His points per game total is good for 6th in the entire VIJHL and leads all 2004 born players.

McIsaac spent the 2020-2021 “Pod” season in a Bulldogs uniform where he had 1 goal and 1 assist in 17 games.  With the strong line-up the Bulldogs iced this season, playing time would be tough to earn so McIsaac decided to suit up for the Jr. B Bombers to remain in the organization.  The decision has worked out for the Bombers, McIsaac, and now the Bulldogs.

“Having Brady join the Bombers this year was big for our 1st year program.” said head coach & general manager Joe Martin, who also serves as the director of hockey operations for the Bombers. “Brady put himself in a position to play a ton of minutes and be in a leadership role. We think he can be a very good player for us and his time with the Bombers helped in that development.

With McIsaac committing to the Bulldogs, the Bombers organization can take pride in moving on another player from Jr B to Jr A.  McIsaac joins Port Alberni native Blake Power who joined the Nanaimo Clippers and Jaydon Merritt who was signed by the Grand Prairie Storm, before deciding to return to the Bombers to finish the season.

McIsaac and the Bombers are in hot pursuit of a VIJHL playoff spot in their expansion year and that will remain the focus.  Once the Bombers season does end, watch for McIsaac to join the Bulldogs for what they hope will be a long playoff run.
