The Bulldogs are pleased to announce that they have acquired Matthew Wong in a three-team trade. The Bulldogs sent defenseman Jordan Principalli and forward Matt Frydrysek to Quesnel who had recently acquired Matthews?s rights earlier in the day.
Matthew was the starting goaltender for the Victoria Grizzlies last season where he was 26 wins, 19 losses and 3 ties in 48 games. Matthew posted a 2.94 goals against average and a .905 save percentage, which earned him a position on the BCHL all-star roster.
?By acquiring Wong the Bulldogs have arguably the best goaltender tandem in the BCHL. With Kevin Jebson and Harrison May at WHL camps for an undetermined time, we felt it was critical to have a goaltender of Wong?s calibre with us to start the season.
The Island division will be very competitive led by the RBC Cup hosts the Victoria Grizzlies and a good start will be critical for the Bulldogs.
