Bulldogs Acquire VanSickle in Trade with Waterloo

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have acquired 2004 Born Forward Cam VanSickle from the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL in exchange for future considerations.

VanSickle is a native of Fairbanks, Alaska and will add an element of size and skill to the Bulldogs.  Measuring in at 6’1” and weighing 195 pounds, VanSickle scored 4 goals and added 11 assists in 40 games split between Waterloo and the Green Bay Gamblers.

Committed to the reigning NCAA Div 1 Champion Denver Pioneers, making the move to the BCHL is an opportunity for VanSickle to regain his offensive form. Originally drafted 9thoverall by Green Bay in the 2020 USHL Futures Draft, VanSickle has the pedigree to be a solid contributor to the Bulldogs offensive attack.

Head Coach and General Manager Joe Martin “Cam is a hockey player I enjoyed recruiting. He likes to play the game, I see him being a great teammate. With the skates on I believe he sees the ice well, finds loose pucks around the net, has a good set of hands, plus more.

His father Mike played in the BCJHL for Juan de Fuca and led them in scoring. It’s pretty neat to have the son score (hopefully more) in the same rinks as his dad. We are looking forward to having him in our lineup.”

VanSickle and his new teammates will begin training camp on September 2nd at the Multiplex. The Bulldogs will open their Exhibition Schedule on September 3rd with Split Squad Double Header with the Cowichan Valley Capitals.  Tickets for all Exhibition games are on sale now. Visit the Bulldogs website for ticket information.
