Bulldogs Add Boilard Brothers

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce the commitment of 04 Forward Jules & 06 Forward Raoul Boilard for the 2022-2023 season.

The brothers recently accepted a commitment to the University of Nebraska Omaha where they will play NCAA Division 1 hockey for the Mavericks.  The Boilard’s will eventually join current Bulldogs Manu Charbonneau and Matthew Maltais on the Mavericks roster.

The pair played U18 AAA hockey for the Magog Cantonniers where they earned a birth in the Telus Cup, the national U18 championships. Jules was named the tournament’s top forward as he posted 9 goals and added 4 assists in just 6 games on the national stage. During the post-season, Jules played his best hockey of the season leading his club to the Quebec championship with 8 goals and 18 assists in 16 playoff games.  In the regular season, Jules posted 12 goals and 18 assists in 33 games.  Jules was a 4th round pick of the Rimouski Oceanic in the QMJHL and was recently selected by the Omaha Lancers in the USHL entry draft.

Raoul led the Cantonniers in scoring during the 22-23 season with 17 goals and 44 points in 39 games.  He added 3 goals and 9 assists in 16 playoff games.  At the Telus Cup, Raoul had a goal and 4 assists for 5 points in 7 games.  Raoul was also selected in the 4th round of the QMJHL draft by the Gatineau Olympiques and was selected by Omaha in the USHL Futures draft.

Joe Martin loves the competitive edge the pair will bring to the Bulldogs. “There will be an adjustment making the jump to junior hockey, but we believe that both players will contribute offensively for us and be leaders. They are coming from a winning program and performed well on a big stage at the Telus Cup.  Winning at any level is tough, so we like that they have been through it.”

The Boilard brothers and the Bulldogs will open training camp with the  on September 2nd at the Multiplex.
