Bulldogs Alumni Play with Adirondack of the AHL

Former Alberni Valley Bulldogs goalie Brian Stewart signed an amateur tryout contract (ATO) with the Adirondack Phantoms, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers.                                        
The Burnaby, B.C. native was between the pipes for three games with the Phantoms this season attaining one win and two losses with a 3.59 goals-against average. Prior to his professional debut, Stewart played for Northern Michigan University (NMU) and had a record of 18-11-7 with a 2.43 goal-against average and a .927 save-percentage for the 2009-10 season.  During his NMU career, Stewart appeared in 117 games, with a record of 50-42-14.  He had a career goal-against average of 2.53 and a save-percentage of .921. Stewart recorded 10 shutouts during his career.                             
Another Alberni Valley Bulldogs Alumni Michael-Lee Teslak also played for the Phantoms this season. The Fernie, British Columbia native made his first appearance of the season with Adirondack on December 12th, 2009, making 28 saves in a 7-4 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He was reassigned to Wheeling (ECHL) on December 17th and played in 21 games for the Nailers, posting a 7-11-3 record. Teslak began the year with the Elmira Jackals (ECHL), going 5-5-2 with a 2.96 goals-against average and a 0.890 save percentage.
