Bulldogs Back in Win Column after Defeating Clippers 3-2

The Bulldogs got the 60-minute effort that has been lacking in recent pre-season play.  The reward on Saturday night was a 3-2 win over the Nanaimo Clippers.  The win snapped a 5 game winless skid.

One night after a wild 9-8 shootout loss to the Grizzlies, the Bulldogs were committed to a “simple” team-first approach.  The effort was noticeable.

Dawson Tritt, Jacob Bosse and Josh Van Unen all scored in the win.  The Van Unen winner came short-handed just 2:49 into the 3rd period.  The game was tied 1-1 after 1, and 2-2 after 2.

In the deciding 3rd period, even while playing with the lead, the Bulldogs pushed the pace and outshot the Clippers 15-7 in the period and 38-30 overall.  Jackson Glassford was sharp on the night as he made 28 saves for the win.  Jordan Naylor suffered the loss in goal for the Clippers as he stopped 35 of 38.

The Bulldogs are now 3-4-0-1 in the pre-season while Nanaimo drops to 5-3-0-0.

The Bulldogs will next host the Victoria Grizzlies on Tuesday.
