Friday night will be the Alberni Valley Bulldogs’ third pre-season match, as they pay a visit to the Nanaimo Clippers.
So far, the Bulldogs have looked promising in their first two preseason games. Taking both matches against the Victoria Grizzlies, by scores of 6-1 in Game 1 and 4-1 in Game 2. Players of note that have made an immediate impact have been Cole Melady (3G, 1A), Mirko Buttazzoni (2G, 2A) and Diego Buttazzoni (2G, 1A). As well as both goalies Ashton Lukan and Hobie Hedquist only allowing just one goal apiece in each of their starts.
As for the Clippers, this will be their first pre-season match. Looking to get off to a good start this year after having a disappointing 2020-21 Pod Season as they finished with a record of 8-11-1, which was only one point better than the last place Cowichan Valley Capitals. On top of that, the Bulldogs took the previous season head-to-head against the Clippers, posting a 6-0-1 record in those seven contests.

This will also be the first match of a back-to-back as the Bulldogs will host the Clippers Saturday at 7:00 PM at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
