Bulldogs fall to the Clippers in Pre-Season Game

After the Alberni Valley Bulldogs were able to snag both games against the Victoria Grizzlies, they would sadly not add to their winning streak as the Bulldogs lost to the Nanaimo Clippers, 4-2.

In the opening frame, the Clippers would be the ones to get on the board first two goals. One from Austin Spiridakis, the other from Matthew Edwards. But the Bulldogs would add one before the end off the stick of Brady McIssac, which made it a 2-1 game for the Clippers heading into the intermission.

In the second period, The Clippers would continue to add on the goals, adding two more goals. This time from Michael Craig, which was on the powerplay and from Charles Tardiff to make it 4-1 for the Clippers by the end of the second period.

The third period would see McIssac scoring once again for the Bulldogs, but that would be the final goal registered as the final score was 4-2.

Powerplay totals were 0-0 for the Bulldogs and 1-5 for the Clippers.

Ultimately, the Bulldogs’ biggest issue in this game was penalties. There were a total of seven Bulldogs penalties, by the end of the game. Though two of them were coincidental. Regardless, it’s certainly not going to help any team being down a player that many times throughout the game.

The next Bulldogs game is against the same Clippers as they will host them on Saturday at 7:00 PM.

Tickets will be available for $15 if you purchase them in advance. Or $16 if you get them at the arena. However, anyone under the age of 18 will be allowed to watch the game free of charge if accompanied by an adult thanks to the San Group.
