Bulldogs Face-off Against Capitals in Final Exhibition Weekend

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs (3-1-0) are going on the road to take on the Cowichan Valley Capitals (1-4-0) on Friday night. This will be the last weekend of games before the Bulldogs will begin their 2021-22 BCHL season.

So far for the Bulldogs, they have looked solid in their four games. Registering 17 goals and allowing 8 in those first initial exhibition matches. Bulldogs currently leading scorer for the pre-season is forward Mirko Buttazzoni (4G, 3A, 7P). Needless to say, you can expect some great things from Buttazzoni once the season begins.

Goaltender Hobie Hedquist has also looked very good himself. In the two games Hedquist has played in, Hedquist is (2-0-0) posting a 0.60 GAA and a .970 SV%. Not that those numbers are realistic to stay the way they are, but it’s a good sign to have your starter looking this sharp early on.

As for the Capitals, pre-season hasn’t been as kind. Scoring 13 goals and allowing 21 goals in their initial five exhibition games. However, since it’s getting closer and closer to the start of the season. You can expect the Capitals to bring more energy to the next two games.

Tonight’s match will be taking place at the Cowichan Community Centre and puck drop will be at 7:00 PM. If you’re unable to come to the game, you can also catch the game live on BCHLTV. A link for the broadcast will be down below.
