Bulldogs Face Vipers in Final Showcase Matchup

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs (3-1-1) are playing the second game of their two BCHL Showcase games Sunday morning. As they will go head-to-head against the Vernon Vipers (2-2-0).

The Bulldogs are coming off an impressive 5-2 victory over the West Kelowna Warriors from Saturday night and are looking for a similar result against the Vipers.

That win over the Warriors in the last five BCHL seasons.

As for the Vipers, they’re coming off a solid victory themselves. As they defeated the Chilliwack Chiefs 4-1 Saturday night.

It will be a tough battle considering neither team would like to end this trip on a bad note, but it’s a classic case of defence vs. offence.

The Vipers currently have a perfect penalty kill. They’re the only team to have that distinction. However, they have only been shorthanded ten times, so it may be a little exaggerated on how good it is. But, so far so good for the Vipers.

As for the Bulldogs, even though their penalty kill isn’t anything crazy at the moment, the real threat is their powerplay. Which, is currently third-best in the BCHL at 33.3%.

And in terms of goals scored between the two teams. The Bulldogs have scored 21 goals in their first 5 games, while the Vipers have only registered 12 in four games.

This will surely be one entertaining game to watch. Puck drop will be at 11:00 AM and can be seen live on BCHL TV. A link for the broadcast will be down below.
