Bulldogs fall 8-4 to Clippers at the Dawg Pound

PORT ALBERNI- The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have now dropped four consecutive games after losing to the Nanaimo Clippers 8-4 Wednesday night.

Jacob Bosse who turned 19 on Wednesday would get the scoring started for the Bulldogs on a delayed penalty in the first period. The Clippers would answer shortly after tying the game at 1-1.

The Bulldogs would get the lead back on the power-play with a goal from Stephen Castagna making it 2-1.

The Clippers would tie and take the lead early in the second period before Bosse sniped his second of the game knotting the game at 3-3. However the Clippers would strike three more times before the middle period would end to take a 6-3 lead.

The Clippers would add two more goals in the third to take a make it 8-3. Caige Sterzer scored late for the Bulldogs. But the comeback would fall short as the Clippers would take the mid-week matchup 8-4. The Bulldogs outshot the Clippers 41-39.

With the loss the Bulldogs are now 25-27-2-2 and will return to action on Saturday on the road against the Cowichan Valley Capitals. The Bulldogs will wrap up the regular season on Sunday at the Dawg Pound against the Clippers. Puck drop is set for 2 PM.
