The Alberni Valley Bulldogs open their pre-season tonight in Nanaimo at Frank Crane Arena when they take on the Clippers in the first half of a weekend home-and-home set. The clubs return to the Dawg Pound tomorrow night for the re-match.
The Bulldogs roster will feature 7 returning players including Callum Tung who will get the call in goal. On the back end, 20-year old Finnish defenceman Matias Myllykoski will wear the Bulldogs sweater for the 1st time along with new recruits like Samuel Léonard who is committed to St Lawrence and Lenny Greenberg who’s committed to Sacred Heart University.
After a full week of camp, there is little doubt the players are looking forward to seeing another jersey in front of them, especially the Clippers. This home and home exhibition set will be the appetizer before the main course of the inaugural Rivalry Series presented by Mainroad Mid-Island Contracting. The two rivals will face off 7 times this season with the winner receiving bragging rights, and the beautiful Rivalry Series Trophy.
