The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce that they have signed 2005 born Forward Kai Matthew for the 2025-2026 season.
The 19 year old Matthew is from Edmonton, Alberta and split last season with the WHL’s Kamloops Blazers and the AJHL’s Drumheller Dragons and has 198 games played in Junior Hockey. In 57 WHL games he scored 14 goals to go with 9 assists good for 23 points. He has played 159 regular season and playoff games in the AJHL, scoring 30 goals while setting up 41 others good for 71 points.
On the addition of Matthew Bulldogs Head Coach and General Manager Joe Martin stated: “I’m excited Kai is joining us, he’s an experienced 20 year old forward who had played extremely well in his playoffs. He’s a guy that can produce and can be difficult to play against. ”
Matthew commented: “I’m excited to be joining such a great organization in a fantastic community for my fifth and final year of Junior Hockey. I can’t wait to get started, and to win a championship”
