Clippers spoil first Bulldogs 2018 Game

The Bulldogs returned to game action on Wednesday night when they played host to the Nanaimo Clippers were the Clippers would spoil the party with a 5-2 win.

During the first period the Clippers were the only team to get on the board scoring two unanswered goals, first at 13:34 by Lucas Vanroboys and second by 15:08 Joshua Bourne assisted by Brad Belisle and Lucas Vanroboys.

The Bulldogs would get on the board in the second period two times while the Clippers scored another goal to keep a 3-2 lead. Bulldogs first goal was by James Orban assisted by Keaton Mastrodonato and Ryan Steele while the second goal was scored by Connor Welsh on the powerplay assisted by Ryan Steele and Darren Rizzolo.

Clippers would score two more goals in the third period first by Lucas Vanroboys and David Silye to take the game 5-3.

John Hawthorne kicked away 30 of 35 shots while Ryan Steele earned the FortisBC Energy Player of the Game.

The Bulldogs next game is on the road in Nanaimo on Friday, January 5th.
