Columbia Ice Weekend Report; Bulldogs split the weekend

Columbia Ice Weekend Report:

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs headed into the weekends double header at home with a little more excitement as we welcomed all the players parents for Parents Weekend.

On Friday night the parents and fans were entertained with an exciting 2-0 win over arch rivals the Nanaimo Clippers.

It was a scoreless game until the third period where Aaron Bohlinger would get the first goal of the game assisted by Keaton Mastrodonato and Ryan Miotto. Then with less than 30 seconds to go Mackenzie Wight would score on the empty net to take the game.

In game two of the weekend the Dogs’ weren’t as fortunate as they would suffer a tough loss to the Vernon Vipers 4-0 with all the scoring coming in the second period.

First at 2:41 by Teddy Wooding, followed shortly after by Nicholas Cherowski. At 6:02 the Vipers would add their third goal by Jagger Williamson and to end it at 19:16 Ben Sanderson would get the Vipers fourth goal.

The Bulldogs are on the road this weekend for three games, first  on Friday night in Prince George, Saturday Merritt and Sunday afternoon Chilliwack.
