Successful Inter-squad Game!

Nothing but happy people around the Multiplex Thursday evening as hockey has finally returned to the Alberni Valley after a long off-season, too long for many.

Things were kicked off at 5:00PM with a BBQ by donation put on by the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Super Fans where they were able to raise $1,006.15, which goes towards the Players Morale Gatherings!

Team White which was lead by Arena Announcer Charles Mealy and Al McCulloch took on Team Red which was lead by the Port Authorities’ Dave McCormick and Mike Carter.

With a crowd of over 200 people it was an exciting game, ending in an overtime win for Team Black 4-3.

In the first period both teams got on the board, Team Blacks first goal was scored by Keaton Mastrodonato, while Team Whites goals came from Foster Martin and Cayden Kraus.

Team Black was able to tie things up in the second period with the only goal in that period by Paul Selleck.

Both teams traded a goal each in the third, Jackson Doucet for Team Black while Julian Benner for Team White ending the game in a 3-3 tie.

Early into the first overtime Christian Simeone from Ryan Steele would end the game giving Team Black the 4-3 victory.

The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow (Friday) when the Powell River Kings are in town, puck drop is 7:00PM all tickets $7.00.
