Bulldogs Look to Keep Momentum Rolling Against Chiefs

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs (5-6-1-0) look to make it two wins in a row as they host the Chilliwack Chiefs (4-6-0-1) at the Multiplex on Saturday night. The contest is presented by Double R Meats, and one lucky fan will win FREE BACON for the year tonight!

The match-up features a pair of clubs who haven’t exactly lived up to expectation to start the 22-23 season.  After a hard week of practice, and a big a win last night versus Coquitlam, the Bulldogs are hoping that they’ve pressed reset.  Chilliwack is 3-6-0-1 in their past 10, but are 4-3-0-0 on the road this season.

Hobie Hedquist returned to form for the Bulldogs last evening for the Bulldogs as he stopped 33 of the 35 Express shots he faced.  Matthew Maltais scored twice and now leads the Bulldogs with 14 points in the clubs first 12 games, one point ahead of Ethan Bono who also scored last night.

The Bulldogs owned the season series with the Chiefs last year as they earned went 4-0-0-1.  The lone blemish was a shootout loss in Chilliwack.

After going 0-5 on the power play last night, the Bulldogs are left searching for answers with the man-advantage.  The power play unit ranks dead last in the BCHL and is operating a paltry 8.9% on the year.
