Brandon’s Back! Buhr Returns to Bulldogs Line-Up

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs roster received an early Christmas present with the announcement that Brandon Buhr is returning to the Bulldogs line-up after starting the season with Clarkson University.

Buhr has tallied 37 goals and 39 assists for 76 points in 70 career regular season games, while adding 8 goals and 4 assists in 10 playoff games last season.

This season Buhr was held off the scoresheet in his first 9 NCAA games.

The return of Buhr to the Bulldogs line-up is an obvious shot in the arm for a club that has struggled to find consistency in the first half of the season.  With Buhr’s return, it gives the Bulldogs another veteran 20-year old presence, and perhaps more importantly, a veteran who knows what is expected of a Bulldogs player.

Club President David Michaud on the news that Buhr wanted to return to the organization to finish his junior eligibility. “It’s a bit of mixed emotions as you feel badly for Brandon that it wasn’t working for him at Clarkson.  On the other side of the coin, adding a player of his experience and skill level this time of year is a tremendous addition for our roster.  He’s an established star in the BCHL who can come back to us and press reset on some things.  As an organization it’s up to us to help push Brandon to be in a position to thrive at the next level, and we’re excited for that opportunity.”

Buhr arrived back in BC this week and is expected to make his season debut tonight when the Bulldogs face the Coquitlam Express at 7:00 pm.  Fans will have their first chance to see Buhr back in the Dawg Pound on December 31st when the Bulldogs host the Powell River Kings in the New Year’s Eve Prize Extravaganza night!
