Vancouver Island hockey fans have reason to celebrate as the Nanaimo Clippers and Alberni Valley Bulldogs proudly announce the launch of the inaugural Rivalry Series, presented by Mainroad Mid Island Contracting. This thrilling series will add a new dimension of competition and excitement to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the upcoming season.
The Rivalry Series, a brainchild of both organizations, aims to create a renewed sense of rivalry and camaraderie between the Nanaimo Clippers and the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. Throughout the regular season, the two teams will face off seven times in intense matchups, battling for supremacy on the ice.
“The Clippers have been one of, if not the most intense rivalry the Bulldogs have shared over the years, to see the creation of an official Rivalry Series will only intensify things. I think our players and fans will really enjoy the added intensity! Thank you to Mainroad for supporting the series, and the Bulldogs look forward to this new annual tradition,” said Alberni Valley Bulldogs president, David Michaud.
The highlight of the Rivalry Series is the prestigious Rivalry Series trophy, which will be awarded to the team that emerges victorious in the season series between the two clubs.
