Bulldogs drop a wild contest in Powell River

POWELL RIVER- The Alberni Valley Bulldogs dropped their sixth consecutive game, 7-1 on Friday to the Powell River Kings.

Tommy Bannister would get the Bulldogs on the board first with his 9th of the season at the 6:15 mark of the opening period . Ryan Doolin would pick up the assist on the goal. Unfortunately it would be the only goal on the night for the Bulldogs.

The Kings would strike early and often in the middle frame to take the lead 5-1 after 40 minutes.

Luke Pearson would exit the game for the Bulldogs after the second period. Emergency backup Carlos Siso would come into the game to start the third.

The Kings would score the only two goals in the third which seen both teams combine for nearly 50 minutes in penalties and a number of misconducts.

The Kings outshot the Bulldogs 35-29. The Bulldogs went 0/6 on the power-play. With the loss the Bulldogs fall to 24-24-1-2. The Bulldogs will look to get back in the win column tomorrow back in Powell River. Puck drop is 5 PM on Saturday.
