Important Notice to Fans – Rule Emphasis

In an effort to help our valued fans get a better idea of what to expect as they attend BCHL games, or any other level of hockey in Canada this season, we have added a Webpage with detailed information about Hockey Canada's New Rules Emphasis and Standard of Play.

Hockey Canada has adopted this new standard, patterned after the changes in the National Hockey League last season, and officials at all levels of hockey are now required to call this new standard at all games.

The BCHL fully expects that their will be learning curve for all involved – players, officials, coaches, and fans will have to learn and understand this new way of enjoying the game.  Fans attending BCHL games will be provided with as much information as possible about the new standards and are encouraged to remain supportive of their players and the officials through this transition period.

The BCHL is a league of speed and skill and as a league, we believe that with this new level of emphasis, fans will have a tremendous opportunity to witness some of the top hockey prospects showcase those talents in BCHL buildings around the province.
