Rally Falls Short as Clippers Edge Bulldogs

A 3rd period rally fell short and the Bulldogs couldn’t erase a poor start as they fell 5-4 to the Clippers at Frank Crane Arena on Wednesday evening in Nanaimo.

The Bulldogs trailed 3-0 after 20 minutes and 5-1 after 40 minutes before rallying for 3 straight goals in the 3rd period to make things interesting.

Nicholas Beneteau, Booker Daniel, Josh Van Unen and Ryan Nause scored for the Bulldogs.

Hobie Hedquist had an uncharacteristic off night as he allowed 3 goals on 9 shots in the opening frame before giving way to Jackson Glassford to start the 2nd period.  Glassford stopped 10 of 12 shots in relief.

The loss is the Bulldogs 2nd straight and drops them to 8-5-2-0 on the year.  The Bulldogs will play host to the Powell River Kings tomorrow evening at the Dawg Pound.  Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
