The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are proud to announce that Forward Josh Zary has committed to the NCAA Division 1 LIU Sharks for the 2022-2023 season.
Zary, a 20-year old from Nanaimo BC has appeared in 111 BCHL games and scored 34 goals and added 37 assists for 71 points.
After missing the entire 2020-2021 season due to injury, Zary has had his best BCHL campaign to date with 20 goals and 25 assists in 44 games this season for the Bulldogs.
Head Coach & General Manager Joe Martin is excited Josh will have the chance to keep playing hockey at the NCAA level. “This opportunity is well deserved for Josh. When he missed last season, he used the time to prepare himself to have a career year a 20 year old for our hockey club. Now he leads our group in many areas, both on and off the ice.”
Zary was thankful for his family, coaches, teammates, and friends who’ve helped along the way.
The Bulldogs and Zary are back in business on Wednesday night as they host the Victoria Grizzlies at 7:00 pm.
